Studio is finally done!

After weeks of work, we are officially done with the photo/video studio at PDG! I will post more pics soon, but just had to show-off the progress!

Blog it! is a Must Have App

Recently we launched our official blog with TypePad. Right from the get go, I was blown away with the ease of use and power of the site. Everything about it is top notch. But it just got better when I discovered two other offering from the Six Apart the company behind TypePad.

TypePad iPhone App
The first is the iPhone app for blogging on the go. This was just released today and is sick! Right from the iPhone, you can create blog posts and add photos, all from and VERY iPhone like UI. It is just so cool. I can see this being a tool to empower me to interact with my blog more frequently....as life unfolds, right then and there. Social without Going Postal
Blog It! is a very slick web app for the iPhone and a FaceBook application that allow you to update your status or posts to all your microblog from one source. It is very slick and supports most of the most popular sites including Twitter, FaceBook, and Pownce to name a few. I can't say enough about this app. Both the FaceBook app and the iPhone web app are both very streamlined. To 3G or not to 3G...that is the question.

In case you have been living in a cave, the new version of the iPhone is due out this Friday at 8:00 am. It is a refreshed version of the original with the biggest change in that it offers 3G speeds. Will I be upgrading? No....at least not right now. Here's why....

Besides 3G, the new iPhone does offer a few other advantages: larger capacity than my current iPhone 16Gb versus the 8Gb; longer battery life but only slightly better; better reception in part to the new plastic back as opposed to the metal back; and GPS. With all these advantages, you might be wondering why I am not going to be standing in line Friday morning. Simple...location, location, location.

Bartlesville is not in a 3G area. Headed south toward Tulsa, the 3G coverage is fairly good. But I am not in that area enough to justify the extra $10.00 a month the service would costs me. Besides the economics of this, I have and investment in my current iPhone with things such as cases, docks, and AppleCare.

Bottom line, I am going to wait. If they would have introduced the iPhone 3G in a larger capacity like 32Gb, than I likely would have. But until then, I am perfectly content with my orignal iPhone and its capabilities (espeically with the release of the 2.0 software).

Note: Anyone who knows me, knows I am a complete Apple freak. If Steve Jobs introduces a new product, I have to have it. Anyway remember, just three days before the release of the original iPhone, I swore I wouldn't buy an iPhone and yet I was number 46 line waiting at the AT&T store on release night. So don't be too surprised if I throw all this logic out the window and get a new 3G iPhone. I am such a sucker!

PDG+HD

The video production team at PDG+creative is very excited to announce we are going HD! We will be receiving our new equipment in this week. We are going to be shooting a Sony HVR-V1U Digital HD Camera with an attached 60GB hard drive (Sony HVR-DR60 60GB HD Video Camera Recorder) so all our video will go straight to hard drive uncompressed. It will be an amazing addition to our creative work flow.

We already have several projects lined-up for the new equipment and I will be making more here with links to some of the completed work.
